"Smokin' Joe Legere"

Joe Legere resides in Milford with his wife, Lynn and two bloodhounds, Ozzie and Clyde.
Joe earned his name "Smokin' Joe" from Ed Libby who lettered Joe's first race car. The name stuck and has been with him his entire racing career.

Joe enjoys building race cars as much as he does racing them. He got his start in 2004. He moved quickly from the ranks of race car builder to driver. Joe actually built the car that he drives and declares that with this year's enhancements, such as a new engine and other components, it's to be the strongest he's ever had.

Joe was crowned "Rookie of The Year" in 2004 and recorded a third place finish for the year in his division. He won the "Pretty Car Contest" in 2005 along with his first feature race and finished fourth in the division. He was awarded the "Safety Award" in 2006 and registered 3 first place finishes and finished sixth in the division.

In 2007, Joe has teamed up with R.H. Foster Energy, On The Run Convenience Stores and Freshies® Neighborhood Deli, for a successful and exciting season. In fact, Joe has earned over three first place finishes and lead the points race that year.

Joe was seen attending many R.H Foster Energy Corporate Events throughout Central, Eastern and Northern Maine, as well as most weekends at Speedway 95.
