Beals: Down East comfort and beauty
The first European settlers arrived in the area where Beals is now located shortly before the Revolutionary War.
Beals is named after Manwarren Beal, Jr., a Revolutionary War patriot who, along with his wife Lydia, were the first residents of what is known today as Beals Island.
