1959 Robert H. Foster started Foster fuels as a Gulf Oil Dealership with one 1500-gallon truck

1965 Became a Mobil Consignee

1967 Become MacLauchlan & Foster Oil Company, Inc.
Propane was added to the product mix

1971 R.H. Foster, Inc. was formed
Company started a blueberry farm operation to keep employees busy in the off season

1978 R.H. Foster, Inc. became a full Mobil distributorship

1979 MacLauchlan & Foster and R.H. Foster, Inc. merged

1980 Dead River’s Machias operation was acquired

1981 Denbow Oil, Leighton Fuel and Maingas distributorship acquisition

1983 Opened up a lubricants operation.

1985 Ellsworth Mobil Mart was purchased as the first convenience store

1987 A Mobil sub-distributorship in Caribou was purchased opening up the northern section of the state for the company

1988 Snow’s Corner Mobil was purchased in Orrington

1989 The Hampden facility was built

1991 Started the Hampden retail oil business with the purchase of Rawcliffe’s, Inc.

1992 Opened company-owned Newport One Stop

1993 Don Foster became President of R.H. Foster, Inc.
Gray Oil Acquisition & Bill’s Oil acquisition

1994 Became affiliated with Clean Oil Technology, Inc. & Daigle Oil Lubricants acquisition

1995 Pine Tree Propane, LLC joined Foster’s

1996 Alexander Oil joined the Foster’s Family
Opened Somesville One Stop

1997 Bartley & Cobb Energy in Greenville and Hall & Smith Energy in Jackman joined the Foster’s Family

1998 Machias One Stop was built

1999 R.H. Foster Energy, LLC formed with Maine Mobil ventures

2001 Lubricants Division sold to Windward Petroleum

2002 Robert W. Foster became President of R. H. Foster Energy, LLC
Robert Tracy became Executive Vice President
Jordan Oil & Olsen Propane acquisition

2004 Acquired Steamboat convenience store in Winterport

2005 Freshies developed and branded with 9 new locations

2006 Opened Ellsworth Energy Services office

2007 Sold Greenville Energy Services
Presque Isle On the Run was built

2009 HeatKeepers business launched
Acquired Family Fuels in Ellsworth, Acquired Coastal Energy in Machias
