Education

Foster Holdings also has ongoing programs available to dealers and their employees for PERC-certified technical training and licensing.  Classes are held at our Hampden and Hermon facilities, which enable a hands-on learning approach in addition to classroom time.  The Hermon facility is also our depot for bulk propane ASME storage tanks that are available for sale at volume pricing.

Foster Holdings has supply and access to terminals located throughout Maine. Reliable and responsive delivery direct from the terminal to the customer’s location is available through our dedicated transport fleet, with dispatch maintained 24/7.

Supply

We manage a consistent supply of propane at our major rail car facility in Hermon and we have access to product through our terminal arrangements in Auburn.

(also called LPG—liquefied petroleum gas—or LP gas) is a widely used fuel. It is transported and stored as a very cold liquid. The liquid propane is turned into a gas inside a tank or a cylinder. In its natural form, propane is colorless and odorless. To make propane easier to detect in the event of a leak or spill, manufacturers deliberately add a chemical compound to give it a distinctive smell.

Refueling a propane autogas power vehicle is just like refueling with gasoline or diesel, with one exception. the refueling process is “closed”, meaning a seal is made between the refueling nozzle and the vehicle’s fuel-fill port.
