Wholesale Transport Driver

Foster Holdings, LLC is looking for CDL-A drivers to deliver petroleum products safely and efficiently throughout Maine. We are looking for qualified individuals interested in working for a family-owned Maine business. We boast a well-maintained fleet of tractor trailers and a full benefits package. The Transport Division at Foster Holdings, LLC is a small team, working closely together to serve the fuel needs of our internal operations and our customers.

This is a full time, 4-day position, with many opportunities for overtime.

Base pay $26-30 per hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs safety checks and inspections of equipment prior to leaving on an assigned dispatch route.

  • Adheres to all traffic and motor vehicle rules/laws.

  • Loads and transports fuel to assigned locations in accordance with dispatcher instructions.

  • Carefully loads fuel into compartments using dispatch information, ensuring Bills of Lading match with the loaded fuel, and records information on the delivery invoice. 

  • With minimal impact, delivers fuel to locations, ensuring the correct product is put into the correct tank, sticking prior to and after completion of a drop to ensure the correct gallons were delivered.

  • Communicates any deviation of delivery instructions immediately to the company dispatcher or supervisor.

  • Completes delivery invoices, extending invoices, and deducting credit invoices.  Ensures that invoices are accurate and complete prior to requesting the customer’s signature on delivery documents.

  • Maintains driver’s log at each stop, ensuring that the log is current at all times.  Ensures the driver’s log is completed accurately.

  • Communicates any and all issues of service/driving hours to supervisor to ensure hours of service regulations are complied with during the work week/work shift. 

  • Maintains equipment (tractor and trailer) maintenance schedules.  Ensures that equipment remains in good working condition at all times.

  • Reports all issues encountered while performing job functions to supervisor immediately.

  • Drives defensively and courteously at ALL TIMES.

  • Completes trip reports, including the post-trip vehicle inspection report, at completion of shifts.  Reports any exceptions to the supervisor. 

  • Complies with terminal safety procedures and requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 24 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • A valid State of Maine Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat & Tanker Endorsement and a clean driving record.

  • Must be certified in HM -126F and HM-232.

  • Ability to obtain TWIC card.

  • Must also be registered with FMCSA Clearinghouse (register at https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/register )

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to grasp, handle, or feel.  The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
