Service Technician for Tank & Terminal Maintenance - Hampden & Hermon

R. H. Foster Energy, LLC is seeking a Service Technician for Tank & Terminal Maintenance to install and service oil and LP gas fired appliances and related equipment in residential and commercial establishments by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles and positions oil storage and LP gas storage tanks in accordance with current state codes

  • Rail Terminal Backup and Support

  • Tank and Terminal Maintenance

  • Examines flue draft and changes balance weight to adjust damper

  • Constructs foundation of noncombustible materials for tank and equipment installation.

  • Cuts holes in floors and walls to accommodate warm air system duct work for heat and return air distribution, and piping for hot water installations

  • Installs air ducts, smoke pipes, blowers, metal chimneys and piping for heating systems

  • Installs LP gas and heating oil fuel lines from storage tank to heating equipment

  • Wraps insulation around warm air duct work

  • Connects and adjusts timers, thermostats, and limit switches

  • Troubleshoots heating equipment to identify and correct problems, using testing equipment as necessary

  • Disassembles, if necessary, replaces or repairs defective parts, and reassembles if necessary

  • Starts unit and tests operation.

  • Cuts, bends and crimps sheet metal, cuts and solders copper piping, cuts and threads black iron pipe, and cuts and flares copper tubing as necessary for installations and repairs

  • Delivers and sets heating equipment and storage tanks on site, as required.

  • Removes and disposes of any equipment and/or tanks being replaced.

  • All work to adhere to company standards and State and Federal Codes

  • Performs all required tasks in a safe and professional manner

  • Installs, services and trouble shoots oil, propane and natural gas equipment

  • Maintains positive relationships with vendors

  • Keeps personal equipment operating

  • Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records

  • Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications
